Medhurst Antiques is a trusted, independent business specialising in the valuation, purchase, and sale of antiques, offering clients a personalised service. With almost two decades of experience in the antiques and auction industry, we work with private individuals, families, businesses and charities to help them navigate the often complex world of antique sales and appraisals, which can be confusing or daunting.

Our services include, direct purchases, confidential valuations and tailored support in selling at auction. We also offer charity auctioneering, public speaking, and consultancy for auction houses. With a broad knowledge in a wide range of antiques - including art, ceramics and glass, jewellery and watches, coins and medals, furniture, decorative arts, collectibles etc - we also have a network of experts within the industry who can be called on for specialist cases

Tim Medhurst has formed a passion for coins, antiquities and antiques from a young age. At nine years old his grandmother showed him a Victorian Crown coin she kept in a little music box, from then on he was hooked! He has developed a fascination and interest which has sculpted a career path to where he is now, absorbed in doing what he loves every day. Over the past ten years Tim's wife Carmody has been involved in the day-to-day running and search for interesting pieces, now with a special interest in paintings, needleworks and objects particularly linked with social history.

Tim previously worked as an auctioneer and specialist for two leading auction houses over almost ten years. In that time he developed two successful coin departments from scratch. His opinion and experience within the Antique Industry is well received and valued. In 2013 he had the honour of being awarded "Antiques Young Gun" of the year. More recently he has been involved in vetting major Antique Fairs as well as being a panellist at the prestigious Art Business Conference.

As well as a regular and recognisable face on the well known BBC's Antiques Road Trip and Celebrity Antiques Road Trip.
